The conference is designed for both young people and professionals, with short interactive workshops and training sessions which can easily fit into the school or work day. The conference will feature a range of guest speakers including the Ofsted recognized Diana Award Trust, Norfolk LGBT+, youth organisation MAP, and Norfolk Police Safer Schools. Young people will lead workshops on a range of topics such as Tackling Casual Discrimination in Schools and Improving your Resilience.
As part of their work to tackle this issue members of the YABs teamed up with the Diana Award Trust to offer free Anti-Bullying Ambassador training to schools students and staff from around Norfolk, represented the UK at the World Anti-Bullying Forum in Dublin, and produced an animated film about bullying prevention. Watch the film here. To share their learning young people organized the first Norfolk Youth Against Bullying Conference. In recognition of this work Breckland Youth Advisory Board were awarded the 2019 Ben Cohen StandUp Foundation for Anti-Bullying Organisation of the Year.
