Norwich YAB

The Norwich YAB organises lots of activities for young people in the Norwich area, including debates, trips, campaigning and training opportunities.

Our four Youth Action Groups meet on a bi weekly basis at locations across Norwich; at MAP’s Risebrow Centre, at Open Academy Norwich, at Sewell Park Academy and at Notre Dame High School.

Check out our Facebook page for more info, and if you would like to get involved contact Jess.

• Bullying
• Mental health
• Racism and religious discrimination
• Negative stereotyping of young people

Youth voice

• We talk regularly to local MPs, decision makers and the media about the issues facing young people today.
• We have organised trips to Westminster and Brussels to see democracy in action.
• We hosted a debate about Equal Wages for young people

Activities and events

• We offer training and development opportunities for young people covering things like first aid; confidence and resilience; and public speaking
• We organise social events, fun activities and day trips to places like Pleasurewood Hills

Our projects

• We commissioned projects with the Norwich International Youth Project and The Outsiders, to work with vulnerable young people and minority groups.
• We work with local health providers on projects to improve the health and wellbeing of young people, including projects to quit smoking training and getting involved in the local Teenage Pregnancy strategy.
