The Warm Welcome Campaign is beginning a new chapter.
Last winter, Warm Welcome Spaces hosted 2,000,000 visits across 4,000 locations. An average of 120,000+ visitors every week.
Since then, what started as a crisis response to keep people warm through the winter has blossomed into a year-round movement, with the goal of reconnecting individuals and communities all over the country.
While it remains difficult to see where this crisis ends, we can at least make sure there are places in our communities, like MAP, that combat the effect this is having.
What goes on at a Warm Space?
The Warm Spaces and Community Hot-Spot campaigns, of which MAP is proudly a part of, were designed to ensure that young people always have a warm place, one where they can access advice, support, conversation, or simply a hot cup of tea.
If you are struggling to pay bills and manage money, you can visit any of MAP's Drop-In spaces and keep warm. Visitors can expect to find complimentary hot drinks, snacks, WIFI, and gender-neutral toilet facilities.
One of the key goals of these campaigns is to encourage a more deeply connected society, one where we all have free access to welcoming community spaces, and all our young people are welcome.
