During Mental Health Awareness Week, it's important to explore all aspects of what can affect a person's mental health and wellbeing. For example, did you know that research shows that most mental health problems follow difficulties with sleep?
This means that making changes to improve your sleep can positively affect other aspects of your life.
The Better Sleep Programme is a project focused on raising awareness of the role of poor sleep in youth mental health and improving access to effective interventions. These can include:
- Rescripting nightmares
- Getting up at around the same time every day
- Increasing daytime activity
- Getting natural light when you wake up
