The theme for Learning Disability Week 2026 is "Do you see me?" which is all about people with a learning disability being seen, heard and valued. MAP is committed to supporting all young people, and raising awareness of disabilities of all kinds.
MAP has a Right To Play campaign, which young people in Norfolk are leading to make playgrounds inclusive for all. We believe that play spaces should be accessible to all, regardless of ability or disability, so that families and friends with different access needs can play together in public spaces. The campaign calls for resources such as sensory equipment in play areas, so that it is an accessible area for all young people, including those with physical and/or learning disabilities.
Young people with learning disabilities can get advice and support from MAP, and will always be treated with respect. You can take ownership of your own journey with MAP, and with support, set your own goals. We can then support you to reach them, and we'll never tell you what to do. If you're looking to connect with other young people, we have plenty of Activities and Groups that you can get involved with.
Accessing work, education, or training might be difficult for some young people with learning disabilities, but MAP offers lots of support with this. Areas like CV writing, preparing for job interviews, navigating the benefits system, and accessing support in school or college, we can help.
