We want to empower young people who campaign for climate justice, whether that means taking part in direct action, lobbying councils and schools to be more sustainable, or taking steps to learn more about biodiversity and recycling.
Local Campaigning
MAP runs events like Down to Earth and Eco Day every year, bringing together young people, artists, local campaigners, and environmental organisations, with the aim of promoting grassroots change. This can be as simple as building eco-friendly bird feeders, or connecting with nature through music and performance. Our hope is that raising awareness around these issues will help to educate and equip the next generation of climate campaigners.
Climate Justice
Climate Justice recognises that the environmental impact of global warming disproportionately impacts communities in the Global South. For example, the US alone has produced more than a quarter of all carbon emissions to date (compared to 3% for the entire continent of Africa), yet it’s countries like Malawi and Tanzania that suffer the most extreme temperature anomalies.
We want to help young people who are passionate about our climate to make a real difference in their community.
Mental Health and The Environment
Research has shown that children and young people are especially vulnerable to the mental health impacts of climate change.
If global warming makes your anxious, depressed, angry, or if you simply feel overwhelmed by it all, MAP are here to offer support. Our mental health advisers and counsellors provide confidential, one-on-one support both in person and online.
You can read more about the mental health support offered by MAP on our website.
